IONOS — provider assessment
Subject: IONOS
IONOS publishes VPS+ specifications, regular and 3-month promotional USD prices on a 12-month term, unlimited traffic, up to 1 Gbps, IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, snapshots and country-level data-center availability. This assessment verifies five plans. Exact data-center cities and backup pricing are not captured.
Overall score withheld
The evidence coverage is insufficient for a single overall score. The dimension results below are evidence assessments, not a universal quality ranking.
Conclusion
A straightforward dual-stack option in four countries with transparent promotional and regular pricing. The overall score is withheld because exact locations, backup terms and independent performance are not established.
Dimensions
Assessed dimensions have a score and rationale. Not-assessed dimensions remain visibly unknown; they are not assigned a neutral score.
| Dimension | Status | Score | Rationale and evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location fit | assessed | 3 / 5 | The page lists Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and the United States without exact cities. Country-level locations are recorded and exact placement must be checked at order. |
| Network performance | not assessed | Overall score withheld | No independent throughput, latency or packet-loss test was run on this provider. |
| Policies and limitations | assessed | 3 / 5 | IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, unlimited traffic, snapshots, 24/7 support and a 30-day money-back guarantee are stated. Backup pricing and SLA terms were not captured. |
| Price transparency | assessed | 4 / 5 | The page shows a promotional price for the first three months of a 12-month term and a regular price. State and local taxes may apply; no setup fee is stated. |
| Source freshness | assessed | 5 / 5 | The selected official sources were observed on 2026-10-24. |
| Specifications | assessed | 4 / 5 | vCore, RAM, NVMe and bandwidth are published for every VPS+ plan. Virtualization technology is not stated. |
| Support and reliability | not assessed | Overall score withheld | No support interaction or independent reliability data was collected. |

Suitable for
- Dual-stack services in Germany, the UK, Spain or the US
- Buyers who want unlimited traffic and snapshots
- Small services that fit a 12-month term
Not suitable for
- Buyers who need an exact city before ordering
- Backup-critical workloads without further verification
- Workloads requiring measured performance
Known unknowns
- Exact data-center city
- Backup pricing
- Per-size stock
- Virtualization
- Independent performance and reliability
Limitations
- Provider pricing page only; no IONOS VPS was purchased or benchmarked.
