Contabo — provider assessment
Subject: Contabo
This assessment verifies six Contabo Cloud VPS plans from the provider's plan pages, per-plan configurator, auto-backup page and locations page. Prices are EUR ex-VAT on a 24-month term, with the standard renewal price recorded separately.

总分保留
The evidence coverage is insufficient for a single overall score. The dimension results below are evidence assessments, not a universal quality ranking.
结论
An unusual price-to-resource ratio for EU and US buyers who accept a 24-month commitment. The assessment withholds an overall score because traffic is only fair-use, VAT display varies by visitor country, and no independent performance or support evidence exists.
评估维度
Assessed dimensions have a score and rationale. Not-assessed dimensions remain visibly unknown; they are not assigned a neutral score.
| 维度 | 状态 | 评分 | 理由与证据 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Location fit | assessed | 3 / 5 | Germany is recorded as five data centers without per-plan placement, and St. Louis is named for the US region. Exact datacenter-to-plan mapping is not published in the captured pages. |
| Network performance | not assessed | 总分保留 | No independent throughput, latency or packet-loss test was run on this provider. |
| Policies and limitations | assessed | 2 / 5 | The 24-month term and the VAT treatment are documented, but refund, SLA and abuse policies were not part of the captured evidence. |
| Price transparency | assessed | 3 / 5 | Monthly EUR prices are explicit for each term, and the standard renewal price is stated next to the 20% 24-month offer. VAT display depends on the visitor's country, which makes the gross price uncertain until checkout. |
| Source freshness | assessed | 5 / 5 | The selected official sources were observed on 2026-10-24 or 2026-10-25 and are listed below. |
| Specifications | assessed | 4 / 5 | vCPU, RAM, SSD size, port speed, snapshot availability and backup add-on are published per plan; traffic is described as unlimited under fair use rather than a metered allowance. |
| Support and reliability | not assessed | 总分保留 | No support interaction or independent reliability data was collected. |
优点
- Large RAM and storage per euro compared with most European competitors in this dataset.
- Renewal price is stated explicitly alongside the promotional term price.
- Auto Backup is a published add-on with a clear retention description.
缺点与限制
- 24-month commitment is required for the listed price.
- Traffic is fair-use rather than a metered allowance, so heavy egress is a policy risk.
- Datacenter mapping is country-level for Germany.
适合
- EU/US projects that need large RAM or storage at a low monthly cost
- Buyers comfortable with a 24-month contract
不适合
- Workloads with strict metered-traffic contracts
- Buyers who need an exact datacenter at order time
- Workloads requiring measured performance
已知未知项
- IPv4/IPv6 assignment per plan
- Measured network throughput and latency
- Refund and cancellation terms
限制
- No independent performance, support or reliability test was performed.
- VAT-inclusive totals depend on the buyer's country.
Correction path: use the source links and verification dates to challenge a claim. Do not treat an old snapshot as current.
