Scope: Recorded plans on 2026-10-25, using the cost calculator's cash totals and renewal-aware planning figures.
Cash cost and planning cost are different numbers
The table shows the actual recorded cash cost over 12 months and a planning figure that takes the higher of the effective monthly price and the renewal price. The first tells you what the invoice sequence totals; the second tells you what the plan is worth budgeting for.
A plan with a long promotional period can show a low cash total while its planning figure is much higher. Use both when comparing commitments of different lengths.
Commitment risk
Netcup and Hostinger use annual or multi-year terms in the recorded data; GreenCloudVPS's budget line is annual-only and was out of stock at observation; VPSBG publishes both annual and month-to-month rates.
Annual prepayment is a bet on the provider and on your own requirements staying stable. If either is uncertain, the monthly rate is the honest comparison.
What the savings buy
The savings from committing are real but modest at entry prices; they are largest where the annual discount is structural, as with VPSBG's 25% annual rate. Stock-limited sale plans can offer more, but availability is not guaranteed.
Compare the saving against the cost of being wrong: a migration, a price change or a downgraded service during the term.
How to choose
For a stable production workload with a provider whose terms you have read, an annual rate with a published renewal can be the better deal. For a new project or a provider with limited history, start monthly and switch after the workload proves itself.
The calculator on this site reproduces these numbers for any offer, including 24- and 36-month horizons.
Limits of this comparison
- No performance, latency or support measurements are published for these plans; this comparison covers price, billing terms and recorded stock status only.
- Refund terms and cancellation behaviour differ and were not reviewed for every plan.
- GreenCloudVPS's budget plan was out of stock at observation.
- Tax treatment varies: some recorded prices include VAT, others exclude it.
Facts come from provider-published sources recorded in the catalog. Independent performance, support and reliability measurements are not available, so this comparison does not rank those dimensions.
